It's impossible to resist Journey when drunk.

I first heard them in high school and for some reason decided I wasn't into it...then at some point in college i listened to them again and couldn't figure out what was wrong with me in high school.

I was underwhelmed by Spoon the first time I heard them, but now they are one of my favorite bands.

Recent Ones:
Vampire Weekend - didn't understand the hype at first, but find myself listening to it fairly often recently
The National - saw them open for a band a few years ago and was bored to death, but have come to enjoy them

What do you think of Journey in its current incarnation?

The Beatles. No shit. It wasn't until I turned 30 that I actually gave them a chance and started listening to them. Now they're one of my top ten bands.

Actually, I thought it was Dave Fridmann who produced it. Can't say I've really followed the band after Jacques and Jason left. Their work pretty much made the album for me so... It's just a very loud, dirty, catchy album. It toys with being cliched but somehow continually redeems itself.

System of a Down. I dismissed them initially because I couldn't stand "Chop Suey", but after downloading some of their other songs recently my opinion has changed. Daron Malakian is a great guitarist.
