Hi, I'd appreciate any advice. Five of us guys moved into a brand new apt duplex in Brooklyn. We signed the year lease at the broker's office in late september. The issue is, back in September we told the broker we'd be building a wall in the apt, he said he knows and the landlord knows as well. We added to the lease a part permitting the construction of a wall. To this day no one has spoken to the landlord, nor have we received a signed copy of the lease by the landlord.
So now, the superintendent is coming to install a washer and dryer. We're worried he might freak out and tell the landlord we built a wall, and that the landlord might deny ever allowing us to build a wall and keep our security deposit.
Any advice? Should we be worried?
Thanks

Go to the landlord's office and get a copy of the lease.
