Sunglasses MEGATHREAD - all sunglass questions here please - Page 144

Hi guys, I lost a pair of Ray Ban sun glasses which belongs to my father, now I am trying to find a replacement but I do not know the exact name/model number to search around, can you, Mr expert, help me out please? Here's some description:

1. It looks 90% like the classic Wayfarer, but

2. Instead of 2 horizontal pins on each side at the front (riveted for the hinges), there are totally 4 pins, 2 on each side aligned vertically.

Can anyone give me some info about the model number, where I can get it online etc?

Thanks!!!

I want a pair of RB3016 Ray Ban Clubmaster sunglasses. I am definitely going with a dark green lense. However, I am torn between the polished black frame or the tortoise frame. What goes better with my skin tone and in terms of versatility for outfits?

Here is the tortoise on my face:

Here is the black:

I like that the black matches my hair, but the tortoise is very elegant and classy. Not sure if the tortoise will clash with my hair though. However, from afar, the tortoise will be dark enough to look black. Thoughts?

You've framed (no pun intended lol8[1].gif) the issue correctly… sure tortoise is a bit more elegant, black is sleek and minimal and well… black. It goes with anything. If you don't have a varied collection of shades I'd say go black… if you want something more unique then tortoise. I have about 10 pairs of shades from Peoples, Ford, Persol, Sama etc. and eventually you'll have one of everything. nod[1].gif

I've had a few Mylons, what are you asking about them?

Do they seem to be constructed nicely?

The hinge is the same as the acetate models. It's printed using selective laser sintering, so it doesn't fall apart between layers like the more common fused deposition modelling 3D printed items. The older ones seem to be smoother, newer models I've had have more of a raw finish that's a little rough to the touch. You can't cold bend and set them like acetate, but they are flexible and strong. They're also really lightweight.
