Were there any of the more popular frames. Just want to know if I should be kicking myself for missing it.

Picked up a pair of L.G.R Nairobi tortoiseshell acetate sunglasses from Mr. Porter on their Black Friday sale. Received them and noticed that all four corners do not lay evenly on a flat surface. Should I be concerned? Is this a returnable offense? I heard great things about the quality of the acetate and lenses, and they are beautiful, but my initial impression is that their QA is lacking.

Also, any suggestion on fit would be appreciated. I'm struggling between a perfect fit (which the Nairobi's are not) and a fit is imperfect but cool in their own right. Very few sunglasses fit my face and these seem a little small. Ray Ban Aviators and Wayfarers fit me the best when sized correctly, but i'd like better quality. Mr. Porter provides free exchanges, but i'm afraid that it is going to take me 10 back and forth transactions before finding something suitable...

not laying evenly on a flat surface is a normal effect on many acetate sunglasses. This doesn't mean the quality is off and is most likely cause by manufactured packaging when they fold them. You can adjust them to lay evenly on the floor but I suggest if they fit your face fine don't. Those are a nice pair. How much did you end up getting them for?

How far off is it? The frames shouldn't be warped so much that they're twisted far from flat. If it's just a little bit and you can fix it by bending the temples slightly it shouldn't be a problem. As for fit, LGR sunglasses tend to be smaller than others since they use heavier glass lenses, and would likely be too heavy with oversized frames. Ultimately the final judgment on fit comes down to whether you like the look or not, though.

Got them for $220 at 30% off. I really am impressed with the lenses and the frames are beautiful - just a quarter inch too narrow!
