Sunglasses MEGATHREAD - all sunglass questions here please - Page 107

So I'm planning to purchase these Oliver Peoples DBS tomorrow from a guy on craigslist. I'm not too familiar with fake OP glasses or whether or not they even exist. Would anybody be able to help me verify based off these pictures? Thanks in advance.

^looks good to me.

So this is my first styleforum post despite lurking around for awhile.  I hope to get some honest and critical feedback in the sunglasses department.  I have a fifth pair of R/B Caravans in gold frame that are not pictured and may take the place of the D&G since I think the slightly more angular design of the R/B would work better then the rounder design of the D&Gs. I'm not looking to pick one over the other, just comments on if they work or not.  I see sunglasse specific to certain activities or for certain aspects of the wardrobe (i.e. I don't wear Oakleys with a tie) thus I like having multiple pairs.  I have pretty "thick skin" so critical comments are welcomed.  I'm not and expert but I feel the narrower design and lightly straighter lines compliment my smaller head and angular features better than rounder/larger designs.

Thanks in advance for the input.

First one only works if you are running or cycling. Very sporty.
Second is a no go! Seriously! They sit to high on your nose.
Third one is ok.
The last one has the perfect fit for you.

I would sell 2 and 3 and keep the others. You may want to try a persol 2994s as a replacement.

@Mr usnuen- Thanks for taking  the time to look and give me some opinions. I never really like the D&Gs so it's good to know that I should just cut the loss on them.  I like the Persols and may have to give them a try if they'll work better than the club masters.  I don't really know what to a fair price is for the D&Gs- I think they were rather expensive, maybe $300 a couple years a go?

Agreed- Oakleys are for running only.

I need to get some pics of the Caravans so they can get assessed as well.  AOs just don't look right on me.

I think I like  the look of the Persols 2994 (in tortoise).  I've never looked at them before - could be a better alternative to the club masters... now to find them for less than $200...

Here is another look - I initially thought these generics didn't look good but now I'm reconsidering... I juxtapose them against the R/B Club Masters.  I realize the horn look on the generics aren't as distinct as the R/B and the generic's lenses have a bit more drop.  The generics are a little closer to the 2994 look than the R/B New Club Masters...

I agree those wayfarers suit you the best

So maybe I need to look at putting the R/B Club Masters II up as well- that kinda sucks since they're brand new and past the return from Amazon.  Plus, they're the made in china Club Masters- so I'll take a hit there as well... I knew I should have returned those when I had the chance.

Sorry for the late response, but I have these in hand at the moment and the pair pictured are indeed legit.

Thank you for the confirmation. Much appreciated! Sad to say, but it seems like the seller flaked on me so it looks like I won't be driving around in style anytime soon.

I am not 100% sure about this one (look out for the two dots, this is a feature of a specific brand) BUT look out for Barton Perreira. They have (at least) a very similar one.

The Generic Club Masters fit your face way better than the RBs. Check out those Persols. They have the classic fit of a Wayfarer (which fits you perfect!) combined with the "touch" of Persol.

I have them here and they are very classy!

Yes, you may want to show us those BUT I think they don't really suit your face either. But please show us a picture!

Ajk that particular pair of aviators doesn't fit you right but something that sits lower on the nose would, the shape looks good on you. maybe OP Farrell's or a similar Mosley tribes shape, ill echo the other opinions too. Wayfarers look top notch, oakleys are righton for a running pair , club masters don't work
