Thanks for the help guys.. Just happened to see these 2995s pop up for $99 new. Seemed like a steal so I pulled the trigger. I figure even if I don't like them I hope could make back that much pretty easily reselling.

ryan... if you originally liked those 649s then the 2995s should be much better. Basically the same shape but a bit smaller and slightly more angular. May I ask...where did you get them so cheap? Care to share? I would kop those for a bill no doubt. btw.. I like that style much better in tortoise shell than black...good pick!

I definitely would share, but it was an ebay auction. It hadn't been up long when I saw it. The seller had very good ratings.. so I'm guessing they made a slight mistake or they just really wanted to get rid of them.

Any help identifying the brand/model would greatly be appreciated.

Cheers

Does anyone know if the Mosley Tribes Gates fit the same as the the Ray Ban Wayfarer?  The Wayfarer's arms angle downward making them fit awkwardly on my face b/c my ears aren't that much lower than the bridge on my nose.  Does anyone know if the Gates have the same, or similar, downward angle?  I can't find them anywhere in a brick-n-mortar store to try them on.  So am looking to get them online..don't wanna purchase them if they fit like the Wayfarer.  Thanks!

How should I be able to tell that they are too big?

they're big but it works. don't sweat it

Unfortunately Barneys and Nordstroms didn't have much of selection. Anyone in Seattle know of a place that sells a wide selection of Oliver Peoples (really like the Daddy B in matte grey!) ?

I like the Franklins. The Persol wayfarers look good but maybe a little boring. The first pair will stand out a bit more and they look just as good

So have you bought the RE's from here? I think I'll try a few from American Optical but I'm getting tired of lesser quality; always hard to find the right balance between value and quality.

Cheapest place to buy (that I know of - also look round for coupons):

The only thing you don't get is the repair kit.

Ray-Ban Clubmasters go really well with my face. However, everybody and their mom has a pair now.

I'm sure this horse has been beaten to death somewhere else, but what are some other frames with a similar structure to Clubmasters? Price is not a huge concern.

anyone wanna trade 695 Persol in torqoise 54 frames for the 2995s in a 54 or 53/52?
