I found a better quality photo of Drama and I've still not been able to find out what they are.

depends on which ones fit you better. i have an old pair as well. i think they slant towards your face while the current productions don't. they are built like a tank though which i don't think the current ones are. never really wore my pair so i didn't feel the need to buy new ones either.

Yeah, if you go on their website they always have a small collection of mens shades. I just can't figure out what collection the ones i bought are from.

I've got a wide head and I find a lot of sunglass styles I like the look of (wayfarers as a case in point) make me look stupid because they're too small. I usually end up getting sunglasses with larger, squarer lenses, but I'd like to find something a little more refined. So... any tips for guys with fat heads? Thanks.

^doesn't persol have sizes? also randolph? dita frames are pretty huge. at least the oes i were looking at.

I have a wide head as well, and most Persol models at their largest size still do not fit. In general, I have much better luck with metal frames instead of plastic.

Thanks - I'll have to go face another session of trying on and quickly taking off again. I'm not sure I've seen Randolph or Dita in stores before though...


I find the same. I wonder if that's just because that larger lens glasses tend to have proportionally thinner frames, and thin plastic frames wouldn't have the required strength.

CanuckB, what kind of style do you end up with usually?

I think plastic frames simply aren't made in very large sizes because the thickness of the frames would make them appear even larger. I tend to favour aviator styles because they usually fit large and quite comfortably, and they're flattering on most faces.

going to be in NYC this weekend. what are the best spots to check out for sunglasses?

chinatown. go down mott street south of canal st. there a few stores on each block. the great thing is that you can negotiate with them. i'll be picking a pair of these up tomorrow for the summer, with a darker lens tint. the c/w is new this season.

Best sunglasses shop in LA? Best mostly meaning biggest selection.

^i hear la eyeworks have some stuff under their own name. never been to the shop itself though being as i'm not from LA. saw some kenneth coles today. i know they're crap but man that pair fit me so well. they were just a pair of plastic aviators like something paul newman would wear.
