Avatar (James Cameron Movie)

Any other SF (science fiction OR Style Forum) nerds out there looking forward to this one next year? It seems as though it really should be something extraordinary in terms of the technology being required. A lot here are probably too young to remember how "amazing" the effects were for AByss and T2 at the time, so I must admit I'm looking forward to this one. "Titanic" notwithstanding (okay, I didn't like True Lies much either), I really like Cameron's work, especially Aliens and Abyss. I really hope this one doesn't suck, for all the time, energy, and money being put into it. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0499549/

I won't say I am looking forward to it but I'm definately interested.

How can one not like True Lies? There was an Uzi falling down the stairs killing terrorists and Arnold had one of the funniest one-liners in his career. That being said, I hope one doesn't have to be in an actual cinema to experience the awesomeness of its special effects as the story sounds somewhat meh.

I can't believe people are freaking out to go see a 20 minute preview of the movie.. Now if it was a sneak preview of the whole movie, I'd be all about it, but 20 minutes? I'll pass.

I watched the trailer. What's the big deal, that it has fancy cgi?

The plot kind of reminds me of Ferngully, expect in space.

I'm looking forward to this as Cameron teams with Sigourney Weaver and Michele Rodriguez.

Trailer looks like crap. Saw it before Inglourious Basterds last night. Not interested.

+1. What's the big deal here? It seemed like an updated version of the graphics used in Final Fantasy.

It may turn out to be good but I'd be surprised if it's a huge box-office success.
