The Softest Sheets - Page 4

i have some restoration hardware italian 464 percale cotton sheets that i absolutely love.

they were on sale a bit under $300 and i'll admit they are still overpriced but after searching for sheets i really wanted to be able to feel them first and since they have a local store that made the difference versus trying to order from sferra or somewhere with tons of selection and no way to feel them.

About 4 or 5 years ago I slept on some nice Calvin Klein sheets at an ex-girlfriends place and decided to buy some. I went to Bloomingdales, but the retail for a queen set with duvet cover was something like $800.00 per set, and I wanted to buy 5 different sets. So I decided to figure out which sets I wanted, and buy new on ebay, piece by piece. It took some patience but about 2 months later I had the complete 5 sets I wanted, including duvet covers. I figure I got everything new for about 75 percent off. I've been very happy overall with the quality and durability of the sets, but they are not all equal. Two of the sets were made in Italy, and are noticeably more comfortable and durable. I suspect at some point cost became an issue and they stopped making them there.
