I'm sorry, but the whole franchise is so gutless and irrelevant.

Quantum of solace is an entirely meaningless title and now the camp nafness has gone, what's left?

It all just seems to have lost direction. this sub- Jason Bourne route they're following is only going to offer diminishing returns.

I'd like to see them pen some entirely original scripts.

are there really any real fans of it left?

I saw "Casino Royale" when it hit the theatres about two years ago, and thought Daniel Craig was very handsome. With that said, aside from Craig's 007 movies, I think the last good James Bond movie was "A View To A Kill" with Roger Moore (1985).

Damn Bourne and his shaky cam introducing a more raw approach to secret agent life.
Natch.

Quite the contrary, the new bond and the most recent casino royale have actually focused the franchise on a deeper, darker, more somber tone (love story continued from the previous) all the while including everything that made the earlier works great. Hot girls, gadgets, exotic locales, and sinister villains. There are elements of the Bourne movies present but i would venture to say that most people who like either bourne or bond will like the other. The returns are not diminishing. If anything they are on the up and up after a long valley of sub par bond movies after the Roger Moore era. Your entire post is rubbish.

+1. I enjoy James Bond, does that mean I'm not a "real" fan? Would you care to explain what exactly you are talking about?

James Bond have always been mediocre at best but the first Craig one wasn't bad compared to the usual drivel.

Whoa, is today Opposite Day? I thought that was the worst movie in the series... Walken and Grace Jones are the only reasons to watch that.

That's weird. Here I always thought the old James Bond movies were made for kids. Then I saw Casino Royale and suddenly Bond was cool!!! I've watched Casino Royale 5 times in the last couple of months because I am looking forward to Quantum of Solace.
