I have had Louis XIII, and it is rather pleasing.

Ever been to a night club? A 40z Smirnoff plus unlimited mixers (Guru, Orange Juice, Cranberry juice) will run you like $200 bucks...
If you want to give something a try ordering a glass in a bar may be a good idea. Of course you would not think of doing this in a club. Also the XO Cognac would smell like a subtle mixture of cold tobacco, perfume and sweat... the perfect set up for sipping it.

Any opinions on Xo vs. Xo Premier Cru?

It's the Remy Martin VSOP that will go for $35

Remy Martin VSOP costs about $45-50 a bottle (750ml). Now, I don't live in NYC, but $35 for a glass of the VSOP is outrageous.

xo premier cru is only available @ duty free shops...

Louis XIII is realllly good, but @ 1700-1800 a bottle, I rather buy a case of Remy XO and get "white boy drunk" with some friends

no way its $35 for a shot of vsop... maybe $35 for XO in an upscale club or lounge

A bar I go to once in awhile has a bottle of Louis XIII Black Pearl listed at roughly $18,000 on the menu. cop/do not cop?

RM Louis XIII for $35 a pour would equal roughly $525 for a bottle (50ml pour, roughly 15 per bottle).

Here is a good idea of NYC prices for libations at bars: http://www.barandbooks.cz/hudson/menu_38.html
