That about describes my feet as well. What size did you end up determining was a good fit on the Barrie relative to your typical dress shoe size?
sounds like a gift and a curse...Well this is an interesting question--and a long answer. I had always thought that I was a 9 or 9.5D. Kathy spent the first 10 minutes measuring my feet and told me, in no uncertain terms, that I am not a 9-anything. My forefoot is so wide that people have continually sold me larger shoes to help me get beyond that width. I have to credit SF member Fritzl who has steadfastly maintained that my fit was not good. Great knowledge there. Kathy said I am an 8.5E or, as in the Barrie, an 8E. Only a shoe geek can understand what this information meant to me. Now I have to rebuild my shoewardrobe.

Can anyone who owns both plaza and trubalance lasts compare the fit?
I wear a 10D in plaza and have a 9.5D in trubalance on its way. Does that sound about right?
Also maybe I should mention that the 10D is cordovan whilst the 9.5D will be chromexcel; for some reason I remember thinking that cordovan is a slightly larger fit than its chromexcel equivalent.
I'm worried sizing down 1/2 might still leave the boot too big.
sounds like a gift and a curse...
Thanks for sharing. This was very interesting.

I'll accept the new moniker as long as your enthusiasm and good humor remains the same. Welcome "newbie!"Thanks.

Interesting. Does the ball of your foot match up with the widest forefront point on the Chukkas?
