I just need something to keep my Aldens conditioned and looking good while staying as close as possible to the original color. Any help is appreciated.

You did nothing wrong.

Some people say to use nothing except a brush from time to time.

Others have said to use Obenauf's HDLP.

Nick Horween says to use neatsfoot oil.

I know others suggest Montana pitch blend.

I have only used conditioner from time to time.

I use Saphir Rennovateur on my Brown CXL with no color change and it seems to condition. At least they haven't turned to dust, yet...
Venetian Shoe cream seems to be quite popular for CXL as well.

I used VSC on some CXL this morning, seems to condition well and provide a nice level of sheen for casual shoes.

I am a relative shoe noobie, but I have been using Lexol to condition by shoes and boots, use on calf, cxl and shell. So you can condition your leather car seats and do your shoes/boots at the same time smile.gif

I don't own any sahphir products yet I have used Obenauf to water proof my 1k's and 1907's without regard of any color impact.

all the best

I used lexol for everything too. I just wish it was a creme instead, would be much easier to work with.
