I know it was discussed previously but I'd really like to see if "we" can get an order together for a six eyelet chukka.

Based on the Thor boot experience, we could probably get enough people together and find a reseller willing to work with us, but then Alden would take an indefinite period to decide whether to make it and then even longer to produce it. It's a bit discouraging. But I'd be interested in six eyelet chukka.

A potential first step is to contact the retailers who have offered them before (LeatherSoul I think) to see if they have orders in already

You can do pre orders for a 6 eyelet chukka on the plaza in #8 through J Gilbert.

I prefer the Leffot version with the leather midsole

Leffot's version also was $675 for the latest run...

I expect to see a ravello or cigar boot at $800 very soon

couple more shell pieces and I'm out the Alden shell game. need ravello and maybe cigar LWB, and the Thor boot if it comes to fruition.

from there on, I'll go rancourt or OSB for loafers and probably Carmina for calf offerings.

Looking good in your cigars, man.^

Very nice my friend.

This is one of the best Aldens. :slayer:

Super cool look DpprDr. Nice shine also.

King of the longwings IMO

Thanks! Haven't worn shell much recently so being more mindful about wearing them.

Leffot's Tanker was $720; was about to pick them up but found out I will move to MI and needed to be more conservative with the spending.

Anyone know of carriers of cigar shell boots?

Alden DC: straight tip on Grant
LeatherSoul: wingtip on Plaza, NST on Barrie

Any more? Curious about the cigar Indy. I am mainly interested in Barrie/TruBalance/Grant lasted boots.

Also interested in whiskey boots but those will be a LONG time coming...

I may do the same.

BTW, what's OSB?

You are right, I was looking at the wrong Leffot invoice, they were $720

Alden NYC stocks cigar Indy boots with all eyelet on double leather soles.

Those have actually been available for pre-order since late January.
My split toes just shipped yesterday.
Beware the misleading pics of the #8 LWB though. The welt appears to be light/mid-brown. It's actually dark and the same as is used on the standard #8 LWB.

Crepe soles are mega comfy. I can't really comment on the longevity of them since I may have a larger rotation of shoes than normal people so they don't get a lot of wear.

I can't get into the crepe sole. I am sure it is extremely comfortable but something about it just doesn't resonate with me. Perhaps I find it too casual? Not sure...

Alot of us can't either. It's a deal breaker for me everytime.

But it has its fans.

And I'd really like to know when Alden offered a Cordovan-leopard combo.

Ha, you can buy the kilts as an add on. They come in an interesting assortment of patterns and colors.
