I picked them up a few weeks ago and have a bit if a love affair with them...nice tapered fit without being skinny, good rise, nice slub and the Zimbabwe cotton gives them a soft feel from the start that will clearly be awesome with age.

Hey guys.  I got a pair of Indy Boots last week in Color 8 shell cordovan with double leather sole on the Trubalance Last in size 11 D.  They are beautiful.  I got them second hand from the original owner who got them a couple years ago at the Alden store on Madison Ave.  He didn't wear them much and took great care of them.  I also have a pair of Alden PTB's in Color 8 on the Barrie Last in size 11 D.

I guess I was pretty confident that the 11 D Indy Boot on the Trubalance Last would fit fine, since from what I've read the Trubalance Last is if anything a little wider than the Barrie Last.  I'm finding that while they may be wider in the heel and arch area, the shape of the last doesn't give my toes as much room as the Barrie Last.  I think it's a combination of how the shape of the Trubalance Last curves in at your outside smaller toe.  I will admit that my PTB's on the Barrie Last are snug, but they are comfortable..... although I mostly wear thinner socks with the PTB's.

Do any of you guys size up a half size on the Trubalance Last compared to the Barrie Last in a case like mine?  Also, if I want to get a pair in 11.5 D, is Alden of San Francisco about my only option online?  They currently are about the only place I can find who has the Indy Boot in Color 8.  They have the exact same pair that I have with the double leather sole..... which is what I think I would like, but I wouldn't mind considering some other options.

There is no universal answer to your sizing question. You should know that Aldens can vary from shoe to shoe, even within identical models, lasts and sizes. You need to try on the actual pair in question to know for sure. For example, I own five PTBs on the Barrie last, all in 9.5d, except one of them where for whatever reason I had to size up. No explanation except for variance in the shoemaking process. And others I know have had the same issue. You have to try on the shoe in question

saz,

Which Tellason cut did you go with? They have three cuts I believe. I do like their coverall jacket but I'm debating. I like that they're local. Good for them.

14-16 oz is a good every day denim weight. Love my Imperial Dukes from Self Edge SF.

Wish the Edwin Flat Head jacket was still around.

Thanks.  I guess I did try the shoe on in question in 11 D and my toes are cramped.  So, I am looking to get the Indy boot in size 11.5 D.  I know what you mean about variations from the same model from shoe to shoe.  There are bound to be differences.

I was just a little surprised, since my Barrie Last PTB in 11 D fits so well.  Thanks again.

I hope TTS is the right call....I could not resist the whiskey unlined loafers.

First up, the ShoeMart Seconds "Color #4" "Ravello" Cigar Cap Toe Balmorals. So, they were listed in the ShoeMart E-mail as being Color #4, but when I received them the box had Ravello written on it by hand. So, I decided to contact Alden, they confirmed my suspicion based upon the model number, that they are actually, Cigar Shell Cordovan and were made in 2002 for CitiShoes.

Cigar Cap Toe Balmoral (Click to show)

Second up, the Alden x LeatherSoul Cigar Jumper Boot. I purchased these from a fellow StyleForum member, who has only worn them once since acquiring them back in 2012. Unfortunately, I have sold them, but I thought that y'all would appreciate the photos!

Next up, is the Alden x Leffot Plaza Lasted Snuff Suede Wingtip Boot. These are not Shell Cordovan, but still amazing! They have been worn once.

Another hard find was a pair of Whiskey Chukka boots made for Alden of San Francisco back in 2009.

Finally, I picked these bad boys up in person at Alden of NY. When I walked in there, these were sitting on their shelf! I was pleasantly surprised. They had them in my size to... :-)

And an updated photo of my Whiskey Family. I just sold and shipped my Whiskey LHS (second from the right), but wanted to take a group shot before they departed. I have a new Whiskey LWB in production in a narrow size, a Whiskey Indy boot in production, and have two Crockett & Jones Whiskey shoes (Harlech Cap Toe Boot (GMTO) and Lowdnes Double Monk (MTO)) currently in production.

Have a great weekend all!

wow, cigar captoe balmoral will be my grail dress shoes from Alden!

Attk, welcome to the club, those are awesome shoes! They are formal, yet fun and super comfy due to their unlined nature. Enjoy them!

I ordered a jacket from them earlier this year and have been quite pleased - the detail work is outstanding. And to tie this into the thread -- the jacket goes well with all my Alden shell!
