Best jeans I ever owned were a pair of 19oz Samurai 710xx. Roughly two years of wear, two crotch blowouts (and two terrible patch repairs done locally), and I think two washings toward the end and this is how they have turned out. They are now retired and sit in my dresser as my greatest denim accomplishment haha. If I could do it all again I would have paid extra to send them to Denim Therapy for the repairs, I did end up using them in the future on my Roy denim and they do fantastic work. The local repairs now feel like you are riding a saddle as they added denim patches to the inside to reinforce the damage.

Second would have to be the Kicking Mule Workshop AWA 1950 circa 2007 from Context. Amazing slubby hand to the denim, it seriously feels like wearing denim snakeskin. With over a year a wear into them they hardly faded at all, have some minor holes in the honeycombs and a soon to be crotch blowout but pretty much zero fading. I had them tapered to mirror the 1980 fit but then sadly outgrew them, I curse the gym sometimes for not being able to wear them. I think I should actually put them up on the market because I feel someone should be enjoying them if I can't. If someone put maybe under $50 into them to hem them up clean and reinforce the crotch they would have a ton of life in them.

I also owned a pair of PBJ jeans that were fantastic, outgrew them along with some Kicking Mule 1980 that I loved.

Outdoor wedding yesterday and a lot of rain! The #8 straight tips held up flawlessly!

^ I have a pair of those arriving tomorrow (BB version).  Classic shoe, and one I should've bought way before all the exotics.

Thanks - I appreciate that but have no doubt that @rydenfan and other members are far more knowledgeable here than I am. Sorry for the continued thread high jack (I think if mdubs has a question he is more than entitled to input on this thread) but in fact Royal Blue Japan is essentially the same company as Flat Head to my knowledge. I'd also say that both Selfedge and Blue in Green are great places. Blue in Green has some incredible stuff aside from (but also including) denim though so far I've found Selfedge better for me in terms of finding fits I like.

And while we're on a thread high jack, Leffot just lowered sale prices. Not sure much Alden remains but I'd take a look at those shell ivy loafers at $325 (couldn't pass it up at that price).

Thanks all for the denim feedback! Hah, @budapest12 I can do some research and shop around, I am guessing that it is all going to come down to what fits me well...

Dang, those Leffot loafers look really nice for $325, but I already have enough loafers right now.... :-/

Amazing price in those ivy loafers, I just don't know how well I could pull off the style, I prefer the beefroll penny loafer. They do have my size in color 8 though...

They have an elegant simplicity and very comfortable

I went TTS 8D -felt that I could have done 8.5D even after brake, but with them on now I feel they are perfect and I slide in without a shoe horn at TTS now that they are flexed

I like this type of shoe a little tight since they refuse to slip off when being active outside

Has anyone ever made a Whiskey Plain Toe Boot?

Props to @kiya and Self Edge for building the denim finder on their site. You choose all your various measurements and it recommends jeans on their site that fit your specs. I'd imagine it took quite awhile to build that out but I find it a really helpful resource

Whiskey Chukka. IIRC there was a run recently. I own a pair that was bought from Alden NYC.

I got the chukkas a few years ago from Alden NYC (I was on a list for about half a year). The Driggs are cotton.

Thanks to whoever bought the size 8 Ivy Loafer in color 8, saved me from making a poor decision haha.

Pretty interesting tool indeed. Seems like those Self Edge x Dry Bones hank dyed would be a nice tapered fit, sold out in my size. I do have the Somet pair you suggested bookmarked for when I am ready to pull the trigger, still got lots of shoes on my list before them.
