Not sure I'd agree that the J Crew make-up is the best Ravello LWB, but I would certainly acquire them if given another chance.

nephew,
you are holding # 1 ravello gunboat

Ah shucks, thank you Uncle.

Thanks Mr. Spiff!  It depends on your size... 10D barrie may not get back for a year or more...

For a couple of rounds (of my choice) on the Monterey Peninsula, I can have them back to you inside 10 days!

One of each please!  I love them both, I'm on the AOC preorder for Ravello LWB.  I will be thrilled if my pair is the color of either of yours!

See Ya,

Steve

Just as long as we play Spyglass. I spend to much time just looking around when I play Pebble.

I was hoping for Cypress Point, but you might be even more distracted than Pebble! I'm great with Spyglass Hill...

I've got some PTBs (9501) in natural CXL coming next week. A few questions-- I've seen some folks refer to these developing a great patina as they age/are worn. Is there anything I should/should not do with these in order to let them age properly? I'm assuming Renovateur is okay but no other care products besides some brushing? Should I wax the toe at all?

Also, the pictures I've seen online are confusing with regard to the color. Some look quite light and others darker. Does anyone have a pair they can snap a picture of to show me an accurate color? I'd be grateful!

Thanks!

I think Cypress Points 72.4 / 136 slope rating would eat me alive, and besides I'm not a member there either.

I wouldn't put anything on there besides Reno, no. Every batch will most likely be a different shade, so someone else's pair will most likely be different than your pair. I didn't do anything to my CXL for the first year besides brush. I only applied conditioner after that because I just thought I should, but the leather still felt like the first day I took them out of the box. I doubt they needed anything.

Nice nsts uncle Mac. I see what you did there.

Gentlemen, thank you very much. As MrDV stated, the Unlined Shell LHS design is "owned" by Brooks Brothers. The Whiskey LHSes were made in 2009. The socks were from JCrew. I just got a second pair of them, which allowed me to wear one today and one yesterday (they happened to work well with my shirts both days).

Unfortunately, they appear to have sold out of the Navy/Pink design... But maybe they will get more in!?

@sacafotos, thank you very much!!! I think it is the fact that I am doing the @MrDV photo angle...

I had them on the phone, size in stock, and decided to hold off until I got home where I had a $200 J Crew gift card. :brick:  I was a bit on the fence as I had just acquired the DC ravello lwb with brown edge.  Thought it might have been redundant.  I believe it was the summer or spring of 2012.

Gentlemen, thank you very much! I consider the JCrew LWB the king of my Ravello LWB fleet! It is the absolute quintessential Ravello color (to me) and I love the snaz that the exposed brass eyelets bring tot he table. @ReppTiePrepster, I am very sorry to hear your tale of woe with regards to this model. I know that there are several of such tales, and so I always feel bad posting them...

Stumbled a cross a store who had a few pairs of a Ravello shell Captoe boot on Plaza(I think) today. Too bad they didn't fit me.
