Here's a quick indoor pic, horrible lighting. I'll try and grab an outdoor shot this weekend.

Marlow, new PTB, new captoe from last month or so, old chukka from 2011ish I think (O'Connells pickup, so it might have been an even older makeup)

Dark but nice , I like them.

Been hunting for a 7.5 D

I do not know when they do reloads... I have not seem them reload much lately to be honest. They do have "ownership" of the Color 8 LHS design from what I am told...

Beautiful shoes. So it's between dark and "antique"?

Thanks again!

Chris,

Yes, it is between dark (9750) and antique (97504). There is also the double water lock (97506) I am not complete sure the edging on the water lock...

For the 9750 or 97506 contact Alden DC.
For the 97504 contact Alden of Carmel (of Leffot, though they haven't done it in a few days...)

The 97504 is on the left, the center and right are 9750's... (Yes, those are all Ravello).

Interesting. Those could quite easily pass for (from the viewer's left to right) color 8, ravello, cigar.

I can't believe that. They definitely look like Cigar, Ravello and #8

Thanks again. This was super helpful!

Is this what the welt and edging on the cigar and revello preorder from Alden of Carmel will look like?

Which one is the most recent Ravello? The left definitely looks closer to #8. Obviously I am hoping the future ravellos would look like the middle ones but that doesn't seem likely. If it were between the left and right ones, I'm hoping the recently confirmed batches come out looking like the left. It looks like it has a little more red/depth to it, and I can see it lightening up to a nice color. The right one straight up looks like cigar. The reality of this is so sad. I've been admiring everyone's ravello since I first stumbled upon the alden thread, and now that I finally decide to get on a list, it's transformed to a totally different color.

^ This is indeed shocking!  If it were anyone but MDubs, I'd have them prove to me they weren't lying or stupid when they told me these are all Ravello.

BTW, does anyone on here (besides Mac and 7FTG) have the discontinued Alden Mahogany color, and why is it that we never see pics of it?

This definitely illustrates the consumer challenge with ravello. I like the shoe on the right, but only as cigar. Shoe on the left would make me a happy ravello owner but clearly the shoe in the middle is what I've always lusted over as the true or coveted ravello.

Why not have the seller send you a phone pic of the shoes so you can see the coloring. Most everyone has that capability today.

It is not just a matter of "old" or "new".  Shell color variation happens even within a single batch.

A few years ago, I was ordering a pair of "Ravello" LWB from Adam of AoC.  Adam told me two pairs were available in my size within his latest shipment, one darker in shade while the other lighter.  I was given the choice to choose.

The moniker "Alden Ravello" has been around just a few years. If memory serves me well, probably 5 years.  Previously, there was the "Mahogany".

Bought my first pair yesterday. PTB.
Noticed the welting is off right by the start of the heel, is this normal?

Yes, seems to be standard with Alden these days. Only my shells don't have that (granted, I have one pair).

It shouldn't make a difference in wear. Enjoy them!
Can anyone offer an explanation as to why there is so much variation in Ravello and Cigar? You don't really see the same wild swings in shading with #8 when new.

Chukka is the best IMO.
