Both on Trubalance with Commando.

Just trying to get a feel for what you guys think.

I agree that the boot is casual so #8 might be a little dressier than Cigar.

I think that because it tends to be a little more common in terms if exotics it does not get it's just due. I think it is as aesthetically pleasing any other boot Alden makes.

I would probably say Cigar Indy, but what about a Color 8 Indy on Antique? :-)

Color 8 also looks formal because of its shiny nature.

I say just go with true addict style and get both. Especially if both on antique. :)

Can't wait to hit the links tomorrow morning...

Gary's in Newport Beach stocks Aldens, but don't expect to see any unique make ups or a diverse assortment of models.

I'll have to stop in for a quick visit. Thanks! I'll report back if I see anything interesting...

Really happy with these new Aldens from Ebay.  Just the right amount of casualness when I'm dressing down a little.

Visited Gary's a couple of times recently, and if I recall correctly their selection is very basic; indy 405, color 8 ptb and lwb, and the unlined dovers. The closest shop with anything remotely interesting is Unionmade up in LA with its tanker in natural CXL and the color 8 chukka with antique edge on commando sole.

I don't think I might be selling anything that you don't already have, be.

Agree. You will do better buying a pair of surf shorts in Newport Beach. OC is Alden wasteland. Even in LA, you will be hard pressed finding anything outside the Unionmade satellite store in Brentwood or their new, larger one at the Grove. Get your workwear freak on and get to LA, or stay on the beach in OC.

Shame LSBH closed down. That would've been your best bet.

Tom's mentioned that a store in SF would be a "no brainer."

That would give us Alden, Unionmade, and LSSF. Good selection. A shame BB doesn't carry them in stores.
