They will do just fine.  It is only the Big Ten -- Pop Warner-like compared to the real game in the SEC.  If MD had joined the SEC, now that would have taken a little adjustment.

Hate to beat this horse, but how should I size in the Grant last if I wear:

8D in Barrie LWB (could prob do 7.5E)

8D in Barrie boots (calf skin)

8E in Barrie shell tankers

SA insisted I do 8.5E, but I'm thinking I should stick with 8E. He said Grant is shorter than Barrie.

Thoughts?

I've never tried on Grant or Hampton last. These will be too long, I think.

Feet vary, but I can tell you that I take a 10D in Barrie, and a 10.5D in Grant. Both fit very well for me.

Perfect, thanks! Would you say you could fit a 10E in the Grant? If so, I'll change it later.

I'm learning that the "size up/down" is relevant to the shortest length/width you can fit in; so, if I fit a 7.5E and an 8D, I should size up respective to the 7.5E, i.e. 8E.

Alden SA once suggested I keep my measured E width when sizing up/down according to my Brannock

Damn this Game of Lasts!

Yeah I have the indy oxfords also in natural CXL and have worn them more than I expected to. Very comfy.

It would be reasonable to guess that 10E would work, but I have never tried that, myself.

Grant is TTS and the E is huge

I would say that since you could size down in that Barrie LW that when you go 8.5 D Grant it will be plenty of room with socks of various thickness - not to mention much easier getting D width to E

You also have two Barrie boots to help you decide. The ankle in Grant is smaller than Barrie in either width

If you are really a 7.5 Barrie it will make the 8 D TTS grant which will fit like your 8 D Barrie because the Barrie is sized large

So I should use paste wax in neutral to give a gloss to the edge trim now? Will do that's good advice

Trubalance doesn't get a lot of love in this thread, but these are comfortable as hell and plenty sleek enough for work boots IMHO.

Leffot did the following - Truebalance, Commando, Speedhooks

I am a big CXL fan, and as you can see, these get used...

The burgundy paint is peeling off the eyelets of my Alden for BB shortwings. What do you guys do to fix this issue? Nail polish on the exposed eyelets? The patina is brown if that helps. Thanks for any tips you have.

That's happening with mine too. I haven't tried to do anything yet. There's green oxidation too.

I guess that means I need to sell all my Brooks Brothers colored eyelet shoes before this happens!
