They look great.  What is the approximate turnaround time? About a month or two?

Nick is excellent. Would not be surprised if it is much less than that. I am sure a direct note to him will provide a more accurate estimate.

They look nicely done. Did Nick change the welt? Has the fit of the shoes changed in any way (I recall someone posted in this thread that the fit of his boots changed after the soles were changed by Nick)?
He did not change the welt. The fit of the shoes did not change at all.

It ended up being a month but that was primarily because he was out of the eyelets I wanted and had to wait on restock. I think it would have been about 2 weeks otherwise.

Danite is a great looking sole. It looks as good as leather sole.

Now, is B Nelson the shop on the East Side of Manhattan that you guys are speaking of?

If so, I recently took a pair of my Black Suede's there, and the job done was less than satisfactory. While I received the shoes on the date that I was quoted, the job on the shoes could have been much better, and far more finished.

^ The one time I had a less than stellar experience at B. Nelson, I brought it to Nick's attention and he bent over backwards to make it right. He's very available via PM -- think he posts here as "Nick V." He's also been gracious about fixing some poor work that my local cobbler did (whereas some other alterationists resent your going elsewhere for small work). The whole shop is a class act. Always very happy to do business with them.

I'd say overall my experience with B Nelson was very positive. I had a clear idea of exactly what I wanted to do. I sent an email with attached pictures that I marked up showing what I wanted. Upon receipt of the email Nick called and we discussed the project and price. He also asked that I include the email and attached pictures inside the shoe box when I sent them in. I described every detail in my email so there was really nothing left to question. I'd recommend doing the same so there are no questions or uncertainties.
