Ugh!!  The BB sale is over.  Oh well, probably best that I didn't spend more there...

Don't they have a bigger, better sale coming up?  As I recall, sometime around now is when they typically have a big sale and then, eventually, that sale with a kicker.  Picked up a Golden Fleece suit priced at $2000 for around $850 or so last year.  Maybe the discount on shoes wasn't quite so big.

I thought it was pretty significant, 30% off.  Most of Alden's calf/suede offerings were going for around $350.

I really like the Natty Chrmxl and snuff suede tassels (two pairs of shoes, not a combination of the two :D).

I guess I'll wait and see for more savings (or spending)!

It didn't rain today. I wear these more than most, they cheat the rotation.

I'm convinced Mr DV is a wealthy gardener IRL.

Great boots- I love the bar lacing, but have given up on it for day to day wear on my all eyelet boots. Too time consuming to tighten and keep all the laces nicely flat.

Details on the pants? Rrl?

Thank you. The lacing is a real pain. Takes forever, but I really like the look.
The pants are by epaulet. I love their garments.

I may have to hit the BB store again for the tassels.

This is incredible...  four pairs of new Aldens in three weeks, and not one is shell... never would have thunk it!

RTP - those snuff Dovers look great! Did you go with your Barrie size? I got a pair in my Brannock size (9.5D) and with it being suede, it is difficult to confirm whether I need to go down to 9D (my Barrie size in my 975's). They fit fine once I lace them up, but it seems there is some extra length in the toebox.

Was in Alden SF yesterday and they have some cigar LWBs...not sure which sizes other than 7.5D though.  They also had some unlined loden chukkas on sale for about $350; again, not sure of available sizes.

Really? I went in last Friday or Thursday and when I asked about shell they said only black and color 8 frown.gif

Maybe they thought I wasn't serious? I really hope not. That's exactly my size (7.5D).

Ugh.

I can say with confidence that they are on the barrie last.  If you have tried any of the unlined dovers/PTBs on barrie, this BB suede PTB fits identically (even though these are fully lined; you wouldn't be able to tell the difference).  That said, the unlined version and this BB version maybe a smidge more narrow than the standard barrie lasted shoe (i.e. 990/975), but not enough for me to size differently.  If you do go up a half size, I suppose you run into the problem of too much length.  Unfortunately BB does not have any wide sizes available.  If you like the width of your 9.5D, I would return them and order a pair of 9E from Alden SF or DC.  They should have your size in stock.  I suppose you can call them to be sure.

Good luck to you!

I have some great shell boots and shoes but it seems I rarely wear them with the amount of rain (and previous to that, snow) that we have been getting where I live.

Just like most of those who have replied, I wear my shell cordovan in the rain, snow, sleet, slush, ice, and salt and don't treat them with anything like Defender. I do make sure to brush them off thoroughly each evening though. I've had no ill effects from the elements.

Tassels look great but that is a killer combination. Well done Saz.
