Fantastic score!

Dumb question, but are you sure they're Aldens?  None of the shoes currently on the BF page are even made in the U.S.

Those boots look so good, I'd even wear them with shorts!

What the heck is faded denim... You must have had that pair of raw denim for ten years to get them looking that way  :tounge:

In all seriousness I think it looks great together, those are some awesome boots. The color seems lighter than most Alden no 8, closer to the intended Horween color.

I don't know what the rules are, but I think that combo looks great. It's why I love color 8. It goes with almost everything. The shape of the boot and the way you laced them makes them casual enough for jeans, and the cap toe and color give it a dressy-casual feel. Really like the combo and may try the same this weekend with my color 8 dovers.

Your boots are awesome. I love the color and think they pair well w denim, EVEN faded denim.

If anyone is hunting for a pair of Cigar LHS in 10.5D, I just shipped some back to the ShoeMart. They should receive them mid-next week. Unfortunately, they were a tad too wide for me. Hopefully someone here can snag them!

Are they commando soles?

Dang fine pair of LHS!  I'm still waiting to snag a pair in whiskey, ravello or cigar.  I need to jump on the Alden shell LHS train...

Looking good!  Those chinos or denim?  They almost look like the white Epaulet wilshires I just received...

I like the looks of the Mora 2.0 and of course the LWB!  The Mora 2.0 may be my next pair from AE.

A lot of mine have leather soles. Do you have ones with dainite, crepe, commando, or some other type of non-leather sole that you wear in the rain? I just got a pair of commando sole cordovan boots from J.Gilbert and I'm thinking of wearing them regularly, including in the rain since the commando sole might fare better than a leather one.

All my shells get water spots and some get welts.  They always go away with a little time and brushing, so I never worry too much.  I do try to take care of my shoes as best as possible, but I recognize that they're meant to be worn.  Besides, how would a shoe ever get a good patina without exposing them to all kinds of conditions.  It took me a while to come around, but I admire a pair of well-worn and cared for shoes with all the scuffs, bumps, fading, and spots.

Commando because the leather soled ones would get chewed up when wet and worn on cement?

I think I need to go more with your sentiment and start wearing my shoes more often, even in some slightly more adverse conditions.

I think my upcoming #8 NST boots with commando sole will be used regularly during Toronto fall and winter. My JCrew x Alden PCT boots on leather sole on the other hand might not be good option when snowing/raining although I've read that it should be OK. Curious to hear some opinions.
