I personally prefer all eyelets in general but have never not bought boots because of speedhooks.  And I've seen quite a few preferences for speedhooks posted, although it may have been on the C&J or Viberg threads. One of the problems with speedhooks is how they presumably catch the hem threads.  But this is more of an issue with dressier pants and not really a problem with chinos or jeans. Other than that, it's really a matter of preference.  On some boots, I actually prefer speedhooks.

Count this as your one - I'd much rather have speed hooks than full eyelets....

I wouldn't really consider a boot without them.

Speed hooks aren't a deal breaker for me, but I'd rather have all eyelets (I own boots with both).  I just think it's a cleaner look, but functionally I don't there's much of a difference.  The overall style and design of the boot is more of the concern for me.

I see very little color different between the #4 WTB and my Ravello boots.

I have both and I probably prefer the speed hooks for ease-of-use.  I've never had them catch on my dress pants.  While I agree that an all-eyelet boot provides for a cleaner look, it's really not an issue since I'm not wearing these with shorts.

Yes. A tanker is an NST boot. Tankers are sleeker than Indys because most are on the Barrie or Plaza last. Both of which are much sleeker than the Trubalance last which the Indy is on.

Not sure where your ravello boots are from, but I also had a pair and and next to each other the ravello was a little more on the brown side and the #4 was a little on the red side. They were very close though, close enough where I ended up selling the ravello.

Whiskey SWB? From where? Sexy!

Good morning indeed!  (LS from a couple of years ago, or more depending on which run)

This what I found, Ravello SWB:

Alden SF did not have lighter colored shell and they said they didn't have anything in the pipeline.
