Spent the morning brushing and edge dressing my first Aldens: #8 PTB, now 3yrs old and worn often. I regret not taking before pictures, they were beat up pretty good.

Roys got no love, I like them this way.

How much room do you guys give your big toe in cordovan shoes?

The store I was in recommended 1-2mm distance, however the shoes I tried on were way too uncomfortable. Think the guy was trying to sell me an ill fitting shoe. :/

Whatever is the most comfortable. There is no hard rule.

My new cigar chukkas from Alden SF near the end of their Mac-method break-in period. I, personally, am looking forward to some big-time beefrolls!

Yeah, that's a pretty severe case... That said, a Google image search of alden cordovan chukka along with a search of this thread shows that the majority of chukkas have at least a moderate amount of rolling. It comes with the territory with the model.

My chukkas tend not to have the presence of a lot of "rolls" like many do - but partially that is because no two feet are the same, nor are any two walking styles the same. Chukkas are great at showing the wonderful qualities of shell.

Nice - and on the Grant last to boot. :nodding:

Yeah grant last is so nice, really wish more retailers used it more. Should get the cigar grant last boot from Alden DC but have the C&J dark brown and cognac carmina boots on order

Very nice! There's at least one other pair of cigar chukkas in DC -- mine!

The cigar looks great. I think I need to add a cigar chukka or a PTB to my rotation
