Thanks Mike.  This is my only Trubalance boot (Indy boot just isn't for me) and I plan on wearing the hell outta them.  The commando sole makes a big difference to me in terms of durability.  Plus since these are casual boots I don't feel the need to baby them quite as much as my dress shells.

I recently got my first commando soled shoes. And just got my second on Wednesday (the 4060HC - the Color 8 Cap Toe from Alden DC). So, they do last longer than? I do like how I am not wearing through the toe like I do on leather soled shoes. Plus I like the grip in inclement weather conditions.

HaHa. I looked at them also and I agree. I was skeptical, as the Need Supply designs are typically not in my taste range, but those are particularly nice. I alpine grain is a cool look on these.

I would have preferred them with brass eyelets or some form of contrast on the welt. They are a bit monotone for me

exactly...They just need something: eyelets, toe stitching, welt color, etc. For my taste at least...

I heard that Unionmade will be getting a couple of interesting Tankers in soon - Reverse Tobacco Chamois and Brown Alpine with Commando. Does anyone have photos of Alden's Brown Alpine which has seen some age & wear?

This is my first commando sole boot so I can't speak to its long term durability, but I've heard all good things.  I tend to wear out the toe quickly, so I'm hoping the commando will help.

Thank you gentlemen! I appreciate your commendations! I love this thread and Alden. I believe this is the best asset for anyone trying to get information on Alden. I also love posting pictures, because there are very few sources of picture of Alden's.
