I was just coming here to post this. Also ordered the #8 captoe boots. This is likely a mistake on j.crew's part, so get in quick before they catch the error!

Yeah I size down 0.5 for barrie, trubalance, modified.

Is the vamp on the color 8 plain toe from Alden of Carmel a bit higher than that of the stock 990?

I have a low instep, then would like the higher vamp.
