I mean, can the aldens replace the clarks completely, in terms of style and function. so I can ditch the clarks without missing anything.

I would hold on to the CDBs for days when it's messy or things of that nature.

alright, thanks. I was worried that aldens look dressier and can't be used as everyday beaters.

And then a little whiskey this morning, since I didn't get feet of snow as predicted:

I must have a shaky hand today. Can't get a picture not blurry. Anyway, you guys get the gist: Cigar Indys (with the short tongue)

Perhaps you could elaborate on how you intend to wear your next pair of boots. As tylernim pointed out, even if you upgrade to Alden shell boots, sometimes it is nice to have a pair of shoes/boots that are true beaters.

If you are looking for a pair of beaters to replace the Clarks DB, why not do it with the 403 (Indy).  There are some here that use the shell boot for rugged use, but probably not many.  To me, the Indy seems like the more likely candidate for such a function.

Whiskey ptbs as well as your recently acquired Ravello ptbs? B, you are killing me and killing it!

Those are some perfectly uniform rolls too. Wear with style.
