Disagree. PTB presents a cleaner look with less stitching/overlapped leather. It is also not ubiquitous (just look at all of those square toed silly Aldo/whatever-other-mall-brand most men wear: they're all dovers).

But, if it is Alden to Alden comparo...well...to each his own.

NAMOR, are you referring to the glazing that Alden applies to their shell? The Alden finishing process might be proprietary but it's not so unique that it can't be replicated. There are no secrets in commerce, just licensing fees and copy rights.

If you have information on how Alden finishes their shell or know someone who does, please share. I would love to know how they distinguish their shell finishing from everyone else in the business.

I'm partial to Jjampong, (spicy seafood soup) especially in the dead of winter. Bulgogi and Kalbi are always a nice treat though.

Venetian does an amazing job on shell, +1 in my book.
I have never used Saphir so I can't speak for it. I do own a bottle of Venetian. Periodically after reading posts here I will go to it. Nevertheless, it never fails to underwhelm me. I just recently applied it to a new pair of AE shell Randolph full straps and feel that it did very little to improve the shine. I have seen pictures here of the Shaphir Reno results and they always appear dramatic. I intend to pick up some Reno.

I have both and if used proper and just part of the Mac method I find Venetian far better. Now with AE shell I always find it hard to shine till strip off enough of the cream they seem lathered up with

You should call LS.  they recently did a run with dark brown, snuff, and tan suede LWBs.  Not sure what they have in stock at this point.
