Only recent acquisition is Scotch Grain Shell Longwings by Rider. I wasn't going to post them here, but since you asked. I am mainly on lists for stuff at this point.

Don't usually like mocs but I dig these. Looking for something similar to wear casually instead of my nike frees.

On another note, if I'm a 6.5E on AE 5 last, what size am I on barrie and grant last? 6D for barrie?

Personally, I am the same size in the 5 last and the Barrie. I am 1/2up on the Grant or TTS. I sized 1/2 down for the AE 5 last.

I am on my feet ALL day.  I liken my LWB to a cadillac and my single leather soled Strand to a Porsche with regard to support.  The cadillac is like floating on a cloud; you don't feel any bumps on the road.  The Porsche's stiff suspension makes you feel EVERY little nook and cranny, pebble or bump in the road.

My double leathered soled Aldens are the most comfortable dress shoes I've ever tried, without exception.

I'm personally not a fan at all of any type of leather soles.  I just feel that Dainite or mini lug soles are much better if it rains or gets a bit slick out. Plus they won't wear out as fast. I hate not being able to wear some shoes based on the weather that day. I know leather soles look nicer and are dressier so I'm fine with them on dress shoes but on bluchers, boots, and chukkas I really prefer a different type of sole if at all possible.

Nice analogy. I am not on my feet as much as I am typically in meetings (or at my desk). But I do have to do a bit of walking around our campus. Given my scenario, I am okay in a Porsche. But I am sure you know, I love my Longwings. If you don't believe me, here is how much:

To each his own.  I enjoy my commando soled SWB, but I love wearing my double leather soled LWBs and PTBs (cordovan, suede, and calf).  I do not own any shoes with dainite soles.  When my brown calf LWBs need to be resoled, I will experiment and send them to B Nelson to have dainite soles installed.

I can understand that. Where I live it is 72 and sunny 95% of the time. I have rain shoes for the 5%... :-)

Awesome LW collection.  Me personally, I would never buy a Cadillac.  The Porsche 911 maybe my favorite car.  However, my knees and ankles need pedal support. :)

kind of funny, I saw this on ebay and gave them consideration when they had a "buy it now" of $500. I think the seller pulled the BIN when bidding reach $400 or so. Seller is laughing now no doubt.....

If I had weather like that here, I'd be all about the leather soles. I'm in Northern VA and our weather is all over the place. We're thinking of moving to Houston since that's where my wife is from and she tells me it's hot as hell there but also rains a lot so I'm still stuck dealing with weather where something a bit more versatile would be preferred.
