I had the ravello NST boots in my Shoe Mart shopping cart a couple of years ago. In 10E no less. My biggest Alden regret is not buying. Let's hope plaza color 8 captoes can ease the burn a bit.

I love those boots MrDV. Anything Ravello with a lighter shade of blue, especially French blue, is simply awesome.

Do Alden boots go any wider than E?

I've seen double E models at Alden NYC, but mainly in shoes/loafers. Indy boots are stocked in Double E. Any store with a preorder policy should be able to order you a Double E size if they are doing an order of a boot (cordovan, for example).

Shoemart just updated my ravello cordovan wingtip boot order to "shipped" a day ago! I thought I would never get my preorder fulfilled, but now it is on its way! I'm so excited :bounce2:. Just hoping there aren't any major flaws with them.

Congrats! How long has the pre-order been in waiting?

I believe I preorderd on 3/20/13. On 10/3/13 the order status went to "new" (which I'm guessing is when Alden accepts the order?). Then yesterday they finally shipped. Feel very fortunate to not have waited longer. Just hoping they don't have major defects. Would be a bummer to have to send them back.

Wow, that's a really good turnaround time considering how scarce ravello has been. Definitely keep us posted when you receive them -- I'm curious what shade of ravello will turn up.

You should be able to get EE boots. I just placed an order with The SHOEMART for a EE #8 4060 boot.

You'll have to let us know what you think of them once you get them and use them for a while.

If that is the same rubber sole as the "brick" sole, I have a pair of Indy boots and a LWB on them and they are very comfortable but have surprisingly bad traction, especially compared to any other rubber type of sole or the crepe sole. But again, they are very comfortable.
