Might have missed a post on this if there was one, but skyvalet in dc (skyvalet1.com) has Whiskey PTB in stock (barrie last).

I was under the impression these guys sell out of their stuff quick.  I shot them an email, though.

thanks man. I dont think im any different from many members here, including yourself; we all enjoy caring for our shells. for me though the novelty of nice, expensive shoes has just about ended. when I first joined it was all about keeping your shoes in pristine condition all of the time but i dont have the time and frankly the patience to keep a collection all mac'ed out. im starting to think that if i conditioned and brushed my shoes just once a year they would still last me a lifetime.

I wear a size 8.5, EE in the barrie last for Alden shoes.  Most places do not carry widths wider than E for Aldens, and I have heard that you can order wider sizes directly from Alden.  Has anyone had any experience doing so, and how difficult/convenient is it to do so?

Places like Leffot, will let you get in on their pre-orders. Since the EE is not in their standard run, however, you will have to pay full price up front.

Wow, that looks fantastic! What did you use to remove the creases in the left shoe?

You won't be able to order directly from Alden.

Depending on availability at the factory, you can buy the shoes through some stores and they'll have Alden ship them to you direct from factory. Believe this is generally the case for standard models e.g. black and #8 PTB, LWB, LHS, etc... I'm sure The Shoe Mart will do this and I'd suspect the Alden stores do too.

First, there is much about this sequence that is amazing. From a great pair of chukkas to how a little VSC made them look as good as new. I will be very curious how the saphir works out. When I first joined this forum there were a few discussions on Reno versus VSC and I could not imagine anything better than saphir. Well I ran out of saphir a couple of months ago and picked up what will likely be a lifetime supply of VSC. As someone who has used them both I will say that VSC is definitely better, especially if you're after that 'dipped in liquid glass' look, which I like. Will be interested in your thoughts.

I've had a few pm's about the shoes. They are a 12d in the barrie last. Still on the fence about selling.
