Wow! That is an incredible shade

I noticed Ashland recently had a few color #4 wallets around. I wonder if that means some hides exist...

I would imagine your #4 wt boots are pretty awesome. I didn't have a choice, I was lucky to find a pair my size. given the choice, I may have gone wt as well.

thanks everyone for the kind words. I was happy to wear them today, although no one noticed them irl.

I just received a new pair of Indy boots and there is a gap around the toe on one of the boots, as can be seen in the below pic.

Would you send them back, please?

From Louisville Slugger to Jack Daniels to Filson to Allen Edmonds - I usually end up buying something cool and it's made here in America. For Alden, I drove past it, but I didn't even try to stop in. That place is a lot like the Wonka Factory I have a feeling. Pretty nuts considering even Ferrari, if you own one, lets you get inside the factory in Maranello.

if alden wanted to throw any of us a bone...

alden would offer 1 or 2 tours a year in the "SF Ronald McDonald house chartity auctions" sf is a strong alden supporter, who offers them more free advertising than this thread? type alden _____ in google, you will most likely see pics from this thread. better pictures than most alden websites and retailers. come on alden people, let us donate some money in your behalf... it would also cost them $0000000

I realize I'm in an Alden thread but wondering what your expert opinion on the two boots I'm considering next are: Natural Chromexcel Indys vs Oak Street's Natural Chromexcel trench boots?

I work in a professional environment but typically only dress business casual (dark denim, wool, khakis; tucked in oxford shirts, sweaters, etc). I like that the Indy is lined but dig the trench boots sleek lines. Also not sure I'm a fan of speed hooks. Any recs/thoughts are greatly appreciated smile.gif

Thanks,
ww

Asking Alden to be reasonable or adjust to current demands is like asking a dinosaur to navigate the internet. They'll never change

These are great. I really need a NST boot in shell, are there any in the works?

I would expect Leffot and Context will both have shell NSTs available sometime over the next year or so. Both do very large size runs. Get on their e-mail lists and you should be able to grab one. Leffot does the color 8 / antique, Context does both black and color 8.

Citishoes did a run of color 8 tankers recently as well, check in with them to see if they have your size or are reordering.

If black shell is your thing, I just kopped these tankers from Alden SF:

Unworn at the moment - I'm not 100% sure I'm keeping them but it seems pretty likely at this point.  And, I may have gotten their last pair.

You need to make your own decision but I think that is nothing.  You are not going to find perfection with Alden.

I have both of these boots (My NatCXL Indys are on the Modified last).  One thing where our opinions may differ is that I don't consider the Trench boots to have "sleek" lines.  Not at all.  The Elston last is workboot type last, imo.  I know the Indys are not in any way sleek but my opinion is that they are closer to the dressier end of the spectrum than the Trenches are.

However, I love both of these boots.  I just wish my Indys were on a Dainite or commando sole, rather than the neo-cork.
