Now that my W2 is in hand, it's time to add a staple to the stable. Which classic would you go with in #8?

LWB
NST
PTB

As far as my other shoes owned, I have some CXL beefroll loafer, suede shortwings, and a couple of balmorals. Also a pair of CXL LWBs.

Thanks guys, the oysters were great too:

It wasn't until I finished shucking about 2 dozen oysters did I realize the liquors fall through the cracks in the picnic table. Never heard of tomales bay north of SF but it's a pretty cool concept and a great way to spend and afternoon.

All 3???

You have two wingtips, so I'd say NST, which can dress up and down quite well. Of course, no one would blame you for getting another LWB.

But may I propose another alternative? WT boot. If you get it with all eyelets -- which, to my eye, makes it just a bit more elegant than with speedhooks -- it'll have tremendous range of uses.

That could work, as would a captoe boot. I was mainly thinking about bluchers since I've bought mostly boots this year.

NST will likely be my next Alden purchase unless something crazy becomes available which thanks to tifosi and ryden, I don't have to worry about that.

Haha. There is some formidable 8.5/8 competition in this thread.

It doesn't really matter where you are on the size scale, there are other Alden lovers out there.

Yeah but the 8/8.5 weight class is deep. All jokes aside the thread seems to get busier and busier every day.

MMMmmmmmmmmmm. Looks perfect!

Yep, that's me as well.
