So these are pretty much Brixton clones with a natural sole. Is there ever a "need" to have two pair of natural cxl boots? I already own the natural cxl indy, but these are calling my name.

Of course you "need" them.  One is a Brixton and one is an Indy --- totally different.  I have four pairs of boots that are Nat CXL, all different.  Three are Aldens and one is OSB.

Says "carefully chosen French Calfskin". I was under the impression they only use Horween.

As 7FTG said, it's likely the description is referring to the non-CXL models.
CXL is a Horween trade name I believe.

Anyway, Alden uses Haas for their calfskins.

Just excellent. You're killing it this week.

Thank you MrDV. It is nice to get some of the new ones out there.

Thank you Repp! I checked the weather before I went for my Ravello week. 72 and sunny all week long. :-) I don't own any Swims, but I hear that they work very well.

Thank you Sazon, can you believe that is my first pair of PTBs? The closest thing that I have had are my Color 8 Chukkas...

Now, I was told thy were worn about a dozen times, never cleaned and never treed.
The shoes came with a box and bags.
I'm pretty happy with my purchase.
The one thing I am bummed about is the size. They are a 10E. I have a pair of calf WT boots from LS in a 10E cause the D was way too snug. Saw these in the same size and pulled the trigger. They are a wee but loose but nothing a thin insole can't cure.
Next step will be a wipe down and then tree them for a few days and then take a brush to them.

Anything else I should do?

On to the pics.

Very nice Chukka boots, Color 8 is a very classic style. I would do just as you said and then continue to provide them with the required TLC.

Sazon, very nice Cigar Indy's. I thought that the decree was Whiskey Wednesday like TO Tie Guy, but I broke the decree also, so whatever.

TO Tie Guy, those are amazing Chukkas. They are a very unique, light shade of Whiskey. Looks like it could be their maiden voyage! Continue to keep up the excellent work.

They are indeed the maiden voyage. I was fortunate to pick up a pair at Alden NYC. They are an extremely light shade of Whiskey, maybe not as versatile as the colour 8 but they are beautiful.

I had a tough decision at Alden they had a Whiskey Indy in my size as well as a Cigar NST. In the end the Whiskey Chukka was too unique and beautiful to pass up.

Yes, I understand. Those kinds of decisions are tough, but you made a terrific choice.

Thank you.  These are the latest batch of Leffot's in color 8.  They are a very dark color 8 and I think the antique edge makes them look almost like cigar in certain lighting.  Which I do like.
