Took me 40+ days, 20+ calls, 10+ voicemails, multiple messages left with their B&M store, multiple emails with the Better Business Bureau, and a complaint on their Facebook page to finally get a pair of standard Indy boots delivered.
To their credit, the people at the B&M store were reasonably nice and there was a woman named Marie who actually got things done, but whoever manages their internet store/warehouse is literally ******* brain dead.

So I followed up yesterday (Monday) after emailing on Saturday and leaving a voicemail on Sunday. They said that they don't respond to customer service emails or voicemails over the weekend (hence my not hearing back), and would cancel my order. I did receive a confirmation message this morning, and am waiting for my credit card to be credited (still can't believe they charged my card).

The J Crew Indy boots are indeed chromexcel - they just mislabel the shoe number. On a somewhat related note, J Crew has claimed that two of their longwing models (tobacco and dark brown) are "chromexcel" - it is believed that J Crew is misrepresenting that (they are more likely normal calfskin), but I haven't seen it definitely confirmed.
Yeah the tobacco lwb is not cxl, it is the standard alden dark tan calfskin.

Are the laces blue/navy? Hard to tell on my monitor with the afternoon glare. I've been on the fence about a black LWB...the colored laces really sway me toward thinking I should get a pair.

Maiden voyage. Thanks to closerlook, sevenfoldtieguy, and Mr. Six for your help on this one.

I must admit I wasn't sure if they were #8 or black.

It's finally under 90 degrees here so I feel it's time to pull out the fall shoes. I wish I could wear these to work. Epaulet dark no 8. I think they named them Brixtons. In the background are Leffot tobacco chamois LW. These are perfect weekend day wear for any fall weather. One inner side piece of the chamois leather was a lot darker than the rest of the shoe when I received them but it seems to have evened out over the summer while in storage.

Black shoes with bold laces are a great combo... Blue or red work equally well.

nice choice. i love my black lwb's.
hard to tell from the pic: barrie or grant?

Perhaps this question alone (I will allow the recipient to answer) substantiates my claim that the black shell LWB, given its darkness, presents the slimmest silhouette of all Alden factory model shell LWBs ...

Model FD-31935 on Alden irregular. Guessing this is pretty much a short wing with alpine leather? Two questions:

1) how is the toe area when comparing LW and SW? is the SW more pointer? I don't have a pair of black shoes and I'm wondering if the above will work with khakies / wool pants. Guessing they are a little dressy with denim?

2) How good or bad are usually irregulars in terms of the defect? I know I have up to 90 days to send back but if I do pull the trigger, it will be mailed to mail box in the US and I will have to make trip from Toronto to grab.

3) Size wise I'm guessing I'm a 7.5 D barrie since I'm a 7.5 D in trubalance Indy

4) Should I kop?
