I believe historically the retail on shell boots has increased in the $45 range or so.

The Cigar and Whiskey LWB pre-orders from Alden NYC were $730. Glad I got to lock that in before any price increases, and I'm really hoping the Cigar doesn't look too dark. If they came out looking anything at all like the PTBs Mac posted yesterday, I would be ecstatic.

I got a pair of cordovan cap toe boots in #8 on barrie last and I find them too chunky.

Im looking for something else in a slimmer last. So far it seems plaza or grant are my best bets? I know plaza is sleek grant should be too?

I cant find a 10.5 in stock in #8 boots anywhere except for grant at the shoemart.

Any other suggestions?

So ethical conundrum...

Do you "out" an Alden retailer on here if you know they are offering ~15% off most of their Alden shell as well as non-shell?

We all know none is supposed to offer "sales".

This is theoretically in store only.

There were a bunch of posts made about 24hrs ago about other retailers that sell Color 8 Cap Toe Boots.  You might want to check them out.

I found it.

Thanks for the info.

Seems my best option is still shoemart!

Short answer, No. I am into letting markets decide the prices, and if a retailer can survive in a smaller area with some local discounting then good for them. As is there are so few retailers for Alden.

Ha! Same here. It's such a great boot for going: matches well with dark chinos or denim, sturdy on the feet, and clean up nicely after a sloppy night in the rain
