A lot of discussion about Dovers yesterday so I figured I would wear and post my black ones from Alden DC

About 15 wears in. I guess there is slightly more creasing than a lined pair, but nothing that noticeable. Super comfortable and lightweight (almost too lightweight for the cold weather). Smaller and sleeker shoe that probably goes better with suits when all is said and done. However on Monday I wore my 990s with slacks and a blazer and then changed into jeans and a sweater after work to go to dinner and kept the 990 on - I think the traditional PTB works better for that transition, especially in the fall. Decisions decisions...

Looking good. Maybe the Dover is a niche best filled by more "casual" leathers, like suede.

That being said, I would have been all over those Leffot color 8 dovers had I not placed my LWB order yesterday.

Dover is nice my problem with them is that they feel narrower than the std PTB, it migh work fine on CXL and Suede since those stretch but shell?not sure.

Color 8 dover, Ravello PTB same size, Dover feels like a different size width wise.

I'm really considering picking up these 9 eyelet cap toe boots in the black calf leather, does anyone either own or know anything about these ones?

I had checked around but couldn't really find much info online.

The dover is simply a smaller shoe all around. Length, width, etc. If your current Barrie size is very snug already, a Dover in the same size may be too small. All of my PTBs (both lined and unlined) are pretty comfy in 9.5E.

I've finally started wearing my 990s around the house to break them in. Sad part is I bought them in person at TSM on 07/30 and am still just getting around to wearing them. The odd part is the shell on the left seems thinner than the shell on the right. Doesn't matter though...I love them.

#8 is King!

Hey guys, would someone be willing to help me get something from theshoemart.com and then ship it to Montreal?

Thank you

Not too many Hampton lasted boots out there. That should run true to size.

Just my opinion, I'm not too crazy about a calf Alden boot. For the money you could get a short wingtip boot

OR, if you're open to brown, you could get a fantastic commando-soled all purpose boot:

Someone locally near Norwalk, CT, could proxy the heck out of stuff at TSM if they were willing...especially for our friends up in Canada.

Haberdash has 1/3 off one regular priced item. They don't seem to exclude Alden. They carry some standard Alden models.
Of course the site is getting hammered right now.

^ Thanks. No luck accessing site. Took 10 minutes to get to a page for a chukka in kudu with no ability to choose a size. Oh well.

I notice that one is Plaza and one is Hampton, Waterlock/Oak, Calf/Shell, but I think you made the right choice in favoring the 9016.  As you know, black shell looks great on a dress shoe.

I see your point, but it could get really annoying when you consider all the potential sizing exchanges and returns, dissatisfaction with flaws, ect.  Then you would have all these crazy Alden folks annoying the hell out of you instead of the retailer.
