I'd go with the color 8 LWB with dark edge and the ravello PTB.  The color 8 LWB is in essence an informal shoe that can cross over to some dressy scenarios.  It is by no means a a formal dress shoe.  I personally prefer the Cigar LWB with light/antique edge over the color 8 with same edge, but many here probably disagree.  Also, your whiskey NST is a fine shoe.  All the best...

I am with you Repp with the Cigar LWB. :-)

Honestly it depends on the particular pairs in question. I have seen some photos of cigar LWB in this thread and a few in person that I would choose over my color 8 LWB on antique. However I liked my color 8 with antique over the cigar LWB I sold due to the better consistency of the color 8 uppers. Otherwise the shoes function the same.

Thanks Mike!  The SWB have commando soles, so I use them in more inclement weather.  Love both of them.

Not sure I've ever disagreed with any of your posts.  Keep those great pics coming my friend!

An astute point my friend.  We can always count on keen analysis on this thread...

At the risk of offending a bunch of people here, I'll say this once and never mention it again.  While I have never seen the color 8 Alt Wien (Epaulet) in person, there is something about it that doesn't seem right.  It is a great shoe, but I think it may be the barrie last; it looks awkward in a similar way that the J Crew Cadet shoe (black shell on barrie) looks awkward.  I would probably love this shoe if/when I see it up close and personal.  But for now, I'm not a believer.  Sorry friends, I hope I'm not deemed a heretic for this.  :uhoh:

Random picture but thought I'd post.  Ravello cap toe boots at a TopGolf client event.

Here you go, my 20 year Hanover LWBs. They actually look much better in person than the picture shows. I abused them badly for many years. In fact early on I used to polish them regularly with black paste wax because that was what I was told to do by an old timer. As noted still worn weekly.
