Uncle it is great news. This will be my 2nd pair of Indys and my first with the commando sole. It will be a nice change. I'm also waiting on the JCrew PCT in King#8 and those should be here later this month/early December.

This was a nice score at the last Pair price!

See Ya,
Steve

Captoe blucher (either Alden Or Brooks Brothers branded)
Full Strap Loafer
I guess the 990 fits here as well

Brown
Alden Cigar Captoe
Ralph Lauren Marlow Wingtip

Thoughts? I think I am focusing more on "suit shoes" nowadays.. I would need to get a black wingtip and the color 8 blucher while replacing the current versions of my black calfskin captoes and Marlows...

So the above is just the portion of your shoe wardrobe that you would categorize as "dress," right?

A few ideas:
  • #8 perf cap toe bal
  • Black, #8, or cigar tassel
  • Black or #8 LWB
  • Black or #8 saddle, depending on how dressy you consider them
  • Black medallion tip blucher
  • Black or #8 monk

I'd suggest NST, but I think you've gotten rid of those in the past due to lack of use?

Mike, you know way too much about shoes. And about my yard.

Great, Thanks. Truly an amazing collection. I could be happy with those 4 boots and just a few LWB. Where did you get the brown ones? And do you ever find the plaza last to be too sleek for casual wear?

And I know its all speculation at this point, but does anyone have any opinions/thoughts about when light colored shell might surface again?

pretty solid run of cigar, ravello, and whiskey over the last two months in shoes. can't recall anyone scoring any boots in those three colors

I believe the Cigars are from Alden DC. Have no plaza boots, so I can't help you there.

As did I....all the way to "confirm purchase"....just couldn't do it for some reason

I don't have much experience with cap toes and kind of feel they are a bit formal for the casual nature of the leather.

Any thoughts?

Finally got my first pair of shell: #8 captoe boots from Alden SF.

Working on breaking them in now!

Thank you. The brown (cigar) boots were sold by alden dc. I bought them from a fellow sf member. Plaza is my favorite boot last. Not too sleek for casual wear for my taste. Most pants I wear are altered to 7.5 inch opening and almost no break. Plaza may be too sleek when paired with wider leg openings.

How does the grant fit? Are the large or TTS?

Wow, you have this whole pant leg thing to a science. But I understand, you got to properly expose your Alden's!

It was a good day for #4 boots. Lots of sun in SF.

Gorgeous. And while I'm assuming the flower petals were incidental, they are a nice touch smile.gif
