. Very nice. Love all the IWCs - one day the Portuguese will be mine (oh yes - cue evil laugh). Where are those cigars from? Curious.

Thanks. The cigars were from the Shoe Mart.

How do you size for the lindrick and gianni shell boots for Ralph Lauren?
Just got mine, I ordered tts, I wish I could try 1/2 size down just to make sure which is best.
Thoughts?

For me, I take same size in Lindrick and Barrie.
I ordered Lindrick/Barrie size in Giannis and they feel a little big.
I've also got 1/2 size down from that coming tomorrow so I'll know for sure, but I'm suspecting those are the ones I'll keep.

Thanks for your advice gentlemen. I have the giannis .5 size down coming so I can compare. I hope I don't need a full size down like zippyh suspects.
Calidist's picture is motivating me to keep hunting. I also think the boots look much better with Alden's flat laces. I think the round hiking looking laces are out of place. I will keep you posted. I hope I don't end up returning them all.

I really like these two models from Epaulet and cannot decide between the two. I need a casual shoe for minor weather--i.e., rain, light snow etc. I want a commando sole and if I could combine these two, I'd be home free.

I like the closed heel, commando, and eyelets on the blucher, but dislike the white ?? welt. Possibly Nick could darken?

I like the wingtip but not the extended heel (360 welt?) and not sure of waterlock sole since I've never had it.

Any comments welcomed...

Thanks.

I have yet to replicate the feeling my feet experience when I wear Alden commando. Additionally, on my short-wings, the commando sole is so discrete that it doesn't (IMO) take away from the shoe being dressy. Having said that, I would go with the short wings simply because they are a stunning shoe and I'm superficial so I have no problem choosing style over substance (and it's not like I've ever worn uncomfortable Alden's).

Just my .02.......

Yeah, definitely the short wings. I like the alpine ptb on commando, but the welt option is too much for me. Maybe if they had the standard welt and darker edge from the AWW.

"Boozy" evening here...

Sipping an Elijah Craig 21 year old single barrel bourbon, and just received my Whiskey and Cognac Ashland card cases. These should pair nicely with the #2 I currently use.

^^ Very nice, Ryden.

These are fantastically comfortable. It's been far too long since I've encased my feet in calf.

How's that Elijah?

I've got the Balvenie Caribbean Cask going right now..

Really nice. Enough complexity to tell it's aged without being too much oak. I would certainly recommend it.

Anxiously awaiting the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection. Should be any week now but the shit flys off the shelf faster than a pair of Cigar longwings

I'll keep it in mind- the bourbon of choice (read: actually at home) is Bulleit 10. I've been looking for Van Winkle forever, but that's a lost cause. They also just had a major robbery.

Van Winkle is worth the hype. I much prefer bourbon to scotch. I will take the sweetness of the corn base of the heavy peat any day. Take a look at the Old Fitzgerald 12 year for a lower priced bourbon that is super drinkable. Mimics PVW in many ways

Same. The Balvenie is one of the few scotches I like. I guess the rum cask aging makes it an "offbeat" scotch, but who cares...it's good.

Try Belle Meade bourbon.

For 12 year wheaters, Weller > Old Fitz.
