My Hanover 10D's fit TTS compared to my Alden chukka which fits looser like a 10E IMO.

How do you size for the lindrick and gianni shell boots for Ralph Lauren?
Just got mine, I ordered tts, I wish I could try 1/2 size down just to make sure which is best.
Thoughts?

Definitely 0.5 down from TTS

I got my Gianni today.  I wear a 8.5E TTS and 8E in the Barrie.  I ordered a 8D in the Gianni.  They are slightly longer than a typical 8.5 and slightly narrower than a typical E width in a 8.5.  The 8D is pretty close to a 8E in the Barrie, the Gianni being a touch longer and a touch narrower.  I haven't tried the Lindrick yet, but they supposedly fit slightly shorter and narrower than the Gianni.

Pic for fun (you can kind of tell how they fit from where the creases are developing, which is a little higher up on the vamp than usual)--they are great boots:

I sized down for my Indies and they are perfect, but the same size (8.5D, my TTS is 9D) in Barrie was excruciating.

I would size down for Indy on Trubalance but I am TTS on Barrie

Advice appreciated:

I really like these two models from Epaulet and cannot decide between the two. I need a casual shoe for minor weather--i.e., rain, light snow etc. I want a commando sole and if I could combine these two, I'd be home free.

I like the closed heel, commando, and eyelets on the blucher, but dislike the white ?? welt. Possibly Nick could darken?

I like the wingtip but not the extended heel (360 welt?) and not sure of waterlock sole since I've never had it.

Any comments welcomed...

Thanks.

I use Defender on all of my shell with no color change....works great

Got an insole laying around you can throw in to take up a bit of the volume?

Thanks. The cigars were from the Shoe Mart.

For me, I take same size in Lindrick and Barrie.
I ordered Lindrick/Barrie size in Giannis and they feel a little big.
I've also got 1/2 size down from that coming tomorrow so I'll know for sure, but I'm suspecting those are the ones I'll keep.

Thanks for your advice gentlemen. I have the giannis .5 size down coming so I can compare. I hope I don't need a full size down like zippyh suspects.
Calidist's picture is motivating me to keep hunting. I also think the boots look much better with Alden's flat laces. I think the round hiking looking laces are out of place. I will keep you posted. I hope I don't end up returning them all.

I have yet to replicate the feeling my feet experience when I wear Alden commando. Additionally, on my short-wings, the commando sole is so discrete that it doesn't (IMO) take away from the shoe being dressy. Having said that, I would go with the short wings simply because they are a stunning shoe and I'm superficial so I have no problem choosing style over substance (and it's not like I've ever worn uncomfortable Alden's).

Just my .02.......

Yeah, definitely the short wings. I like the alpine ptb on commando, but the welt option is too much for me. Maybe if they had the standard welt and darker edge from the AWW.
