I proxied some J Crew Aldens for a buddy who had me order two pairs. Had to send him a boatload of pics to figure out which specific shoes met his OCD standards.
I would be afraid to split pairs as I would think the final color would be closer within the same pair rather than between 2 pairs.

That was also one of the aspects that had to pass his OCD standards.

Nothing wrong with being OCD when it comes to the money we spend on these shoes. I do accept subtle "variations" in quality when dealing with handmade goods. I mean that is why we buy them afterall. I am just speaking for myself, I guess. I can't speak for the community.

The whiskey batches are getting darker and darker. I really liked it when they were more yellowish.

What is the consensus on the Brooks cordovan PTB w/ Metal Eyelets. I know it's on the M58 which should be sleeker than Barrie. Wanted to know opinions.

Yes, I figured it was in the "If you have to ask the price..." category for me.

This was my gateway shell. A fantastic looking shoe that goes with a lot. However, It has a sleek last with a flat welt (that looks dressy) but has exposed eyelets (that look somewhat casual)

it's never my first pick for that reason, the shoe has a bit of an identity crisis going on.
