If the fit is great with the exception of an extra 1/4 inch in length, I'd say you're doing pretty well with that shoe.  Others may demand otherwise, but I'm good with a little roominess.

They won't ever understand, or they understand but are among those that benefit from this type of policy, or they will one day understand, but deflect blame to GOP.

I regret selling that pair as well. I think I've regretted selling every pair of alden. Life is so annoying when it gets in between me and shoe ownership

I knew you had them (cause I think I was contemplating buying them, along with your ravello NSTs)

Now that I've built up a small collection, I think I'll be selling off a couple more pairs that likely won't get worn :o

Thanks!...I'll definitely have to stick to thicker "loafer" socks, but I don't think I could have gone down a half size.

Not an indy guy myself, but IMO, this is the best rendition.  Cigar, all eyelets, commando.  What did you pay for it? $460?  I think they were selling it for around $785 a year ago.

$450. I think the box was stickered at $740.

I'd been throwing around buying the cigar indys from fransboone, but couldnt come to terms with crepe sole. glad I waited, as these are exactly what I wanted

Congrats! That's an enviable makeup at twice the price. Have you posted pics yet?

You scoundrel!  They say lighting never strikes twice.  Not only is that scientifically incorrect, but also metaphorically.  In your case, you snagged these and the Ravello LWBs a few weeks back.

Would you be able to choose between the two?  Hypothetically?

cant say I could pick, too much variation.

will say that I am more a fan of the jcrew LWB shade than the ones I got. still happy to have them, but like the redder tones

Well said. Also, excellent photo, as usual. You and DonL have mastered the birds eye image. Always looks perfect.

only a late afternoon pic the day they arrived (and the pic earlier today from their first wear)

at first, they appeared super dark. already after one day out today, I'm seeing the brownish olive coming through.
