Anybody who used the JCrew coupon get shipping confirmation? Ordered suede Indys on Sunday and yet to ship. I know it is early to be getting impatient but I see that my size is now back-ordered. Will be extremely disappointed if these don't go out - they were in stock when I ordered.

Been eyeing those Epaulet Salzburg's.  Look great.  After seeing your pics I am also thinking they are Barrie.  Mike knows his lasts and he says Aberdeen, but they sure look more like Barrie in your pics...

Cigar Cap Toe's today

Had to compromise though, since Epaulet doesn't do E widths, so I went up a half-size in D and we'll see how they work out. So far, so good, with thin socks.

Regarding Alden DC, Kathy hasn't given up on the e-mail list. Not sure what she needs to do to convince corporate that it's a good thing, but it's not totally dead. I figure if she can reach out to more people she will be more willing to try make-ups that may otherwise not do well locally. I'm in there pretty regularly and it's always interesting to see what regular non-fanatics come in to look at.

Those are great-looking shoes.  I hope you enjoy them.  I really don't think, however, that those are on the Aberdeen last.  First, they look like Barrie-lasted shoes -- round v. almond-shaped toe -- wide middle, etc. -- and most, if not all, of Epaulet's make-ups are on barrie last.  But if Epaulet says Aberdeen, then so be it.

FWIW ............

I own this shoe. I purchased it from Epaulet. I am 100% certain it is on the Aberdeen. The Aberdeen is one of my favorites. The Barrie is one of my least favorites. Among other things, it is a great foul weather shoe given the double waterloc sole and Alpine Grain.

Haberdash has a nice selection, and you can order anything form the Alden catalog that they don't carry. Hanig's in the Hancock Building on Michigan Avenue also has a few standard models, including shell cordovan.

Suede Indys have really grown on me. The Indy is such a versatile design. IMO it looks great in its original form, with various shades of CXL, in calf, in shell and leather sole, and in suede.

Who did this make-up?

Sazon

I picked it up from Alden NYC the Madison store.  I think last week, Unionmade posted the same or nearly identical shoe.  I agree, all the variations of Indy look great.
