Nothing in the Loop.  A store in the Near South area - a brief cabride from the Loop -- called Haberdashery carries Alden.

Those are awesome. Do you find they fit tighter than, say, a lined shell LHS in the same size?

When I was a kid growing up in Texas, my cable company carried Braves games (TBS) more than Houston Astros games :brick: .  So, I ended being familiar with the Braves year after year.  Never was a fan but one of my favorite players was Terry Pendleton.  A few years ago I caught a Braves game on TBS and they got an entire new play by play crew in the second half of the game. I don't get that!

Looks like Alden SF has a full-size run.  Free shipping, no tax.  Why not just order them from there?

how in the hell did you guys notice those shoes in that iphone commerical?
Warning: More baseball talk (Click to show)
another braves fan here - grew up in athens, ga but live in seattle now. for those that don't know, mlb.tv is really great. listening to the braves radio broadcast now instead of these dreadful tbs announcers.

A number of new make ups at Frans Boone. Nice to see they're not afraid to use the Grant last.

the vamp is just as tight but the suede has loosened up a bit. van last toe is so spacious compared to the instep. that strap is a killer

So, what do you guys think, could this really be an oversight on the part of J.Crew, or do you think it's intentional? I mean, how many times could a major corporation make such an accidental oversight with their promo codes, especially when they see it results in such a ridiculous (ostensibly costly in terms of their profit margin) one-day spike in Alden sales?!

At one point I had heard it was due to the poor design of their website/shopping cart software. No way to apply exclusions across the board, so some poor schlep had to apply an exclusion rule individually to each item.

While these are not on my feet I decided to share this as I just threw a little saphire on them as I prepare them for their maiden voyage. These are actually my first new Alden shoes. Purchased from Alden of Carmel a few months ago and have been waiting for fall. Today is a work from home day and tomorrow is a denim day, so Thursday these puppies see concrete for the first time. I have seen the occasional Alden complaint lately and I find myself considering AE more and more for my shell purchases. But I still say that an Alden plain toe color 8 with a proper shine is about as good as it gets.

And I just absolutely love the way Alden does commando.
