I ask mainly because I really like the Innsbruck indy at Epaulet, but I missed out on my size, which is 9.5E or 10D. But I see that they have an 11D in stock. Wondering if it might be possible to wear that size with a pair of orthotic insoles, which I like to use anyway, but which don't fit in the low profile Indy my size.  Anyone have any experience...

That is too much size gap IMO. I think your feet will be swimming in those and pretty unsupported. I would be patient and wait for another round. I would assume Epaulet will reorder but you can check with them.

However, several days later, when you posted that you were not accepting your pair, I called Alden DC (within 20 minutes of your post).  They said there had only ever been one pair of 8.5D and that it had shipped already.  There weren't any others.  End of story.  Period.

Infer from that what you will.  I am quite curious to see who got what, not that it really matters at this point.

:rotflmao:   I guess this is somewhat accurate. but yes, mine pair are 11.5

Yeah, that's my fear, but Epaulet says the next restock won't be for another six months at least, and I need a pair of boots before then.

Anyone know of an Indy build with commando or crepe sole that's available now (besides the Leffot pair)?

^I've never been a fan of the Indy, but if I had to own one, this would be it.

I see the word "patina" used very loosely, and perhaps sometimes a little too generously around this thread.  Let the above image serve as a solid example of what the term "patina" means, as it applies to shell shoes.

What size were the cap toe boots?
Gentlemen, here's a question I often ask myself when cleaning and buffing my modest collection of shell footwear, if you had to run out the door which pair of your Alden shells would you put on not knowing if and when you would be able to return home? The impending zombie apocalypse would be the obvious exception. Everyone have a great Sunday.

^^ Right now it would be my whiskey LWB. It's my only exotic shell and I feel like I could easily replace everything else. what about you, Be???

Tifosi, I'm torn between my Ravello LWB's and my new #8 Leffot Naval boots.

Be, if I had my Leffot tankers at the moment my answer may be different. Depending on why I was leaving, I'd probably want boots on my feet.

I wear Rx orthotics in all my Aldens. The Trubalance last is definitely the roomiest last. They work well in there, in my usual TB size.
