Okay, So I have been in talks with Alden DC about their next fall run of shoes and through that topic we got onto the subject of next summer. They told me that Kathy might be open to doing a MTO for that run but obviously there would need to be enough people to commit to purchase in order to coerce both the retailer (Alden DC) and Alden itself. I can tally myself as wanting a MTO boot that can be built by the community and a friend of mine whom also has caught the Alden bug is in on the idea of a preorder. So that makes 2. There would need to be about a dozen people on board with a single design ie. last, color, material (shell most likely), etc. I am going to start another thread dedicated to this Alden DC MTO as the current MTO thread is fairly focused on the current Epaulet makeups that have been in the works. If you are interested feel free to PM me or drop in at the dedicated thread and provide your personal input there.

Here is the link to said thread, and thanks.

No offense meant, but why do we need another Alden MTO thread. The original thread was started with a Alden DC MTO (Whiskey Indy) & Leffot (Ravello captoe) why start another thread?

I figured that since they were working with Mike from Epaulet at the moment I didnt want to clutter up the page. Since the one I started is only with DC I figured I would start a dedicated thread to it. It was mainly as a way for me to organize it in a format that I could frequent so I wouldn't have to dig and ask which idea was for which pre order, basically for organization reasons. No good?

I just figured that I'd ask as we already have the Epaulet MTO Thread started by NYR & the Alden MTO Group Buy Thread by KG. Being the Alden hog that I am I'll prolly partake just figured I'd ask.

If you need help let me know as I've had extensive contact with Kathy & she is great to work with. I'd be shocked to see an Alden DC #4 make-up, but it never hurts to ask for one & I'll prolly throw my thought's into your thread for a make-up or two. Thanks for taking point on this.

All this modified last talk has certainly piqued my interest - can anyone comment how it fits on a flatter, low instep foot? I'm worried that the high arch may be incredibly uncomfortable.

Can't comment on low instep and flat feet, but I really like the modified last. What other lasts do you typically wear?

I have pretty flat feet and my modified last is a good fit

edit: it doesn't fit as narrow as it would seem to fit
