I saw the Carmina's and thought about it, I'll be in a charcoal MTO suit though and I feel like the shade of those Carmina's is just too red or light ... not enough eggplant as a true #8 would be.

I may end up going with the Black Naval Boot from Leffot, but we will see.  Again, thanks so much for everyone's help and speedy replies!

I'm trying to source a pair of boots for my wedding [out-door, November in Chicago].  I'm trying to find a pair of Cordovan #8 wingtip boots.  While generally this wouldn't be a problem, Alden of Carmel has a pair like this as does TSM, I'm looking for a pair that DOESN'T have speed laces/hooks.  I'm trying to find a true 9 eyelet #8 cordovan wingtip boot in the equivalent to Truebalance size 10D.

I currently have a pair of black calf Indy's that I really like, but wanted a wingtip boot for the wedding.  I've already called TSM and while their website lists their cordovan #8 wingtip boot as being 9 eyelet the sales person assured me it in fact had speed hooks.

Can anyone help me out?  In looking at the models listed on Alden NYC's website it looks like their version has speed hooks as well.

Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks a ton, and thanks for all the drool-worthy pics!

Call Alden SF.  They have the same color 8 wingtip boot with all eyelets on the barrie, as listed on the TSM website.  Good luck...

Postpone the wedding

Thank you, sir! At lease I know I can get color8 and black. The other 2 I can probably forget about. At least for now...

I know it's throwing more into the mix....but what about something on a sleeker last?? With that said...the naval from Leffot is a beauty!

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOO...  You'll look like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz with their burgundy version which they call "ruby."  That color is a far cry from color 8, imo.  Sorry Carmina folks here, no offense intended.  smile.gif

Just checked the Alden SF site.  They have speedhooks.  I'd go with the speed-hooks if you like that wtip boot that much.  If you are careful and vigilant, the hooks will not mess with your pants.  However, with some alcohol and a wedding gone wild, it may pose a little bit of a problem.icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

Hah! I'd argue the Carmina's are more burgundy and the Alden's are more eggplant. There is plenty of room in my wardrobe (less so in my wallet) for both...

Carmina has both ruby and burgundy. budapest12 probably meant these from Epaulet. Limited sizes, though.

Ruby's pretty different.

Yes - Exactly. They have 10.5 US. I like looking at the "ruby" but could never wear.

I hope I don't get "booted"...from the forum for this...

STP has these babies from Tricker's for $335! (with current 35% off coupon)

I'm getting closer to convincing myself that I can wear those ruby boots and pulling the trigger. They're phenomenal in person.

It wouldn't solve the speed hook issue, but it's kind of too bad that Ironminded didn't get a pair of the Greeley in burgundy shell MTO. Those would be great for a wedding. (I think this photo is the burgundy version.)
