Be sure to check out the Alden store at 170 Sutter St. Within a block or two is The Hound and the Allen Edmonds store.

Also, UNIONMADE is also in town and SOOOO worth visiting. They carry a lot of special make-ups.

Have a safe trip!

Thanks...I'll certainly check them out. I can already feel the urge to rationalize away my per diem on a purchase.

A full size too small for me, but for any gentleman with wide feet and lust for Ravello LHS:

Give yourself some time.  Traffic and parking stinks on SF (but worth it).  I saw most of the sites this summer... Unionmade, Alden SF, Alden DC, Alden Madison, Leffot, Citishoes, BB Madison, etc...  major props to my daughter who was with me at most of these places!

Great lookin' pics today gentlemenicon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

OlafG, always a size too short and a width too narrow, the story of my shell addictive search for a grail, preferably Ravello, coloured Alden anything.

Alden for J.Gilbert makeup - nst boots model 45152HC, shell #8, commando sole, Plaza last. Fit is good, as I ordered US10E - my normal size is UK9,5E

I like the fit of Plaza much more than fit of Barrie and Aberdeen (the nastiest one I've tried).

700

Nice looking boot, Sir. NST on the Plaza last is a great combo.

When you start having your dress shirts custom made, even though your size is readily available, you've gone way too far.

What momma don't know, won't hurt her.

Gentlemen,

Does anybody happen to have the color 8 handsewn four eyelet blucher oxford (style #73906) that is currently for sale at Alden on Madison Ave:

http://www.aldenmadison.com/SHELL4.html

Image link: http://www.aldenmadison.com/73906.jpg

Is it basically the Ranger Mocc (which I believe has five eyelets)?

Any additional photos or info would be appreciated.

But when it comes to shines, be it calf or shell, there is just a sense of satisfaction that I get from sitting in my basement or back yard and taking care of them myself. I am gently trying to instill some of this enthusiasm into my son. Let's just say that it is till a work in progress.

I get NO satisfaction from ironing my shirts or chinos (when they need it). But...I find that polishing my shoes and boots is almost like a meditation session for me.  It allows me to focus on what I am doing and empty the restless mind of everything else.  I initially worried about the "obligation" of maintaining my boot collection as it started to grow but it is something I look forward to doing now.

IIRC, CTYGGG has the six blind eyelet dover cousin.

Thank you Bakes11771. I did see CTYGGG's post from earlier this year & it sure looks similar (except the side stitching). I was just curious about the Alden NY four eyelet version - whether it really is just a four eyelet Ranger Mocc. It reminds me of an old Made in Maine LL Bean moc shoe that I own. Love to have something similar in shell.
