Do Barrie-lasted boots generally fit like Barrie-lasted shoes (big, that is)?

sore topic for me. I ordered and paid the night they came out, received an apologetic email 3 days later because my size had run out.

A beautiful trio of some very rich looking brown shoes. You have excellent taste in footwear. What would you say are the substantive differences between the handmades and the Goodyear welted shoes you own, and do the handmades justify their extra cost?

From my experience they are narrower. I wear 11E in Barrie shoes but the boots are uncomfortable in the same size, I have to go with either 11EE or 10.5EEE.

Gentlemen, do any of you have an issue of your socks taking on yellowish/orangish hue after you've worn your aldens for a couple hours? I've noticed this with my cigar and suede longwings (both fully lined).

have you looked at any of the photos in here? i'm assuming you are wearing white socks but i don't think anyone else wears white socks with their aldens in here unless they change their socks for photoshoots only smile.gif

We are glad to hear to like our Alden make-ups.  We are trying to order larger sizes but the Alden factory is so busy that orders are taking a long time to manufacture.

Finally I have something to contribute in Aden thread

Alden for J.Gilbert makeup - nst boots model 45152HC, shell #8, commando sole, Plaza last. Fit is good, as I ordered US10E - my normal size is UK9,5E

I like the fit of Plaza much more than fit of Barrie and Aberdeen (the nastiest one I've tried).

Color is fantastic, rich and multilayer, my AE and Carmina Bordeaux shoes/boots immediately appears to be just brown. Only Vass Oxblood looks close.

Finish of the shell is also excellent, best among all my shell footwear - Carmina, C&J for RL, AE, AS and Vass.

The quality/details of the boots are just okay, comparable, nothing to talk about.

. I asked pretty much the same question a couple days ago, with good responses. I'm a couple weeks out from a San Fran work trip and plan on trying on all the examples I can get my hands on. Touring Alden shops is considered sightseeing?? shog[1].gif

A #8 NST boot is a beautiful thing. Enjoy wearing and thanks for posting the pics.
